I was never a big believer in discipline in my younger years, meaning.. as a child, the word "discipline" instantly gave me a sinking feeling in my stomach and conjured up shame and anxiety. I was never any good at that mysterious word because I had undiagnosed childhood ADHD, as in the 80's and 90's there wasn't a lot of talk about it yet.

Years have passed though and the word has transformed into another meaning, one that makes my heart open instead of close down. Disciple. As in, being a disciple to my body, to my heart and to my life. To have such devotion towards myself and higher Self that it's an act of love to do something I don't even really want to do.. just like as Russell points out here.. to do it for Future Jervais. Take a listen and if the word still terrifies you slightly, then put it on the back shelf. It usually means it's not ripe for change quite yet, or at least not from this angle.
